Detail: English is the newest venue from the boys of Eat Well, Drink Better (the same crew that opened Grand Central, Bar Celona, Union Park and Central).

English is located on historic LaSalle Street (444 N. LaSalle, 312.222.6200) in Chicago's vibrant River North neighborhood.

This Gastropub offers patrons with ample space to lounge, dine, and imbibe on three different levels. The 1st floor features the 30 foot main bar and casual seating; the 2nd floor provides formal and casual seating, a bar area and billiards tables; the 3rd floor, ideal for private parties and corporate events, features a 20 foot bar, formal and casual seating. English's layout allows us to set a distinctive mood for our patrons, should they be out for drinks, appetizers, dining, a first date, or private events.

The interior design of English was inspired by the building's art deco façade, detailed with pastel colored terra-cotta ornaments, and the legacy of steel-framed buildings erected in Chicago during that era.

Design elements include a mosaic of terra-cotta tiles, walnut flooring, custom ironwork throughout, handcrafted chandeliers, and a collection of large, vintage photographs.

English is also equipped with high-definition plasma TV's on every floor, displaying sporting events and popular news programs.
